Marin County is a step closer to winning its long legal battle with a Lagunitas tea seller whose property is filled with experimental, unpermitted structures. Last month, a judge ordered David Lee Hoffman to vacate and turn over possession of the property called the Last Resort, where Mr. Hoffman has lived for almost half a century, within 90 days.
Presiding over a tea ceremony with some regulars at his Tea Museum, Mr. Hoffman seemed uncertain, if not especially worried, about the future. He said he doesn’t have a clear plan for what to do within the next three months. “I really didn’t think it would come to this,” he said. “I thought the judge would be creative enough to come up with a better solution.”

The prominent online and land-based gambling news website at CalvinAyre.com has reportedly shut down following almost twelve years in business as its billionaire owner continues shifting his focus to the nascent cryptocurrency and Bitcoin marketplaces.
According to multiple sources, the site was launched by Calvin Ayre of Bodog Entertainment fame in 2009 as a way for the Canadian entrepreneur to publish pieces that were a little less deferential to some of the industry’s biggest corporate players. The Saskatchewan-born pioneer also felt that his service could serve as a more authentic source for readers eager to receive news on the latest trends and opportunities being offered by the ever-growing iGaming sector.
The site was the brainchild of billionaire owner
Calvin Ayre who launched the site in 2009, calling it the âpremier global gambling news site.â
At the time, Ayre wasnât satisfied with the way other gambling news sites were publishing stories, suggesting that they were too respectful of the industryâs biggest companies, so decided to create his own.
Now the site is ceasing operations, with a team of contributors and writers left to say their goodbyes, including lead poker writer

Print article The new year, the COVID-19 crisis, and the end of the election cycle have caused me to reflect on the many great legislators I’ve had the privilege of working with over the past eight years. I wanted to take some time to comment on some of them and recall the wisdom of the voters in electing each one. A number were defeated at the polls. Some chose to retire. Tragically, three died while in office. Most interesting to me is how many GOP legislators I am missing now. In fact, it is legislators far more conservative than myself except for, perhaps, on fiscal policy where I have mostly joined with them that I may miss the most.
