New sculptures adorn Park Rapids New sculptures in Red Bridge Park and throughout downtown Park Rapids showcase the talents of local artists for a fourth year.  Written By: Lorie R. (Lorie Skarpness/Enterprise) Some of the artists were on hand at Saturday’s gathering at the park to share a little about their art. The 13 new sculptures recently installed will be on display throughout the coming year. Paul Dove is chair of the Arts and Culture Advisory Commission in Park Rapids. He said the sculpture walk is a project of the commission.

El Paso ‘All Airborne’ 82nd Chapter cited for ‘dusty’ parking lot nuisance; must pay $55k to pave it EL PASO, Texas The Benavidez-Patterson All Airborne Chapter of the of the 82nd Airborne Division Association has been issued a citation by the City of El Paso that could prove quite costly for the group. The local chapter, located at 2608 Fort Boulevard, has their members park in a dirt lot next to its building. The city citation contends that dust is kicked up from vehicles parking in the dirt lot and is a nuisance. In order to fix the problem, the lot must be paved by the group.

Park Rapids City Council supports Respect Minnesota pledge

The resolution, approved Jan. 26, encourages respectful behavior surrounding the Line 3 pipeline replacement project. 7:00 pm, Feb. 1, 2021 × The Park Rapids City Council approved a resolution on Jan. 26 regarding the Respect Minnesota pledge. Moved for approval by council member Erika Randall and passed unanimously, the resolution contains seven “whereas” statements echoing the tenets of the Respect Minnesota pledge but no “be it therefore resolved.” The pledge’s five tenets read: I support free speech and a safe environment for everyone. I will listen, be inclusive and look for common ground. I will respect others, our natural environment, and local communities. I will respect the cultural heritage and history of the Indigenous people.
