The Beginning of the End of COVID-19 From the Desk of Palo Alto County Public Health

Greetings from Public Health,
As we begin this new year, we are feeling the excitement about seeing the end of this pandemic. Our county numbers are the lowest we have seen in months, although I hold my breath watching to see if we will spike after the holidays. I am grateful for a community that is actively following public health advice.
Finally, we are starting to see some light at the end of the COVID tunnel as we have begun vaccinating our Tier 1A group in the county. At this time, we are working with Palo Alto County Health System (PACHS) to ensure all healthcare workers receive vaccinations. With the help of Hughes Pharmacy, we have over half of the long-term care residents and staff in the county vaccinated as well.
