The district says it’s expanding the programming to be offered to younger students. Parents sent a letter to the school superintendent and school board, citing their concerns about a lack of transparency. There is also a petition with more than 100 signatures.

It has resulted in five teachers resigning, and the sixth retiring. Superintendent Michael Shoaf said a photo of a student, taken in a classroom, was on the phone of one of the teachers. There was also an inappropriate text chain regarding staff members, but not photos of students. Shoaf said, the departure of these six staff members provides our school system with the swiftest route - without litigation - to provide 100% certainty that these individuals will not return to a Rocky River City School District classroom.
