Officials identify Janesville man killed in head-on collision

The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department identified the victim as 55-year-old Steven A. Teubert. Officials said Teubert was pronounced dead at the scene of due to injuries he suffered in the crash.
Rock County law enforcement officials said it happened just before 9 p.m. on the westbound side of Highway 14 at North Newville Road. Fog is believed to have played a role in the collision.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office and the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department are still investigating the crash.

The Rock County Medical Examiner releases the name of the Janesville man who died following a head-on crash Tuesday evening.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says the two-vehicle crash occurred just before 9:00 p.m. on Highway 14 near Newville Road in the town of Janesville.
55-year-old Steven A. Teubert was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 63-year-old Janesville woman was taken to the hospital with what the sheriff’s office called “serious injuries.”
The Medical Examiner says preliminary results of the autopsy indicate that Teubert died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Investigators believe the dense fog played a role in the crash, and the sheriff’s office is not currently pursuing any criminal charges in the incident.

JANESVILLE, Wis. Officials believe fog caused a head-on collision that killed a man and sent a woman to the hospital Tuesday night.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office said it happened just before 9 p.m. on the westbound side of Highway 14 at North Newville Road. Officials said the drivers were the only people in each of the cars.
A 55-year-old man died at the scene. The other driver, a 63-year-old woman, is being treated at the hospital for serious injuries. No charges have been filed.
