Of the 228,337 who have received a dose of the Moderna, Pfizer, or Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Lake and Sumter counties since the state began its vaccination program in December, 148,428 were in Lake and 79,909 were in Sumter.
All told, 157,914 of those vaccinated, including 95,488 in Lake and 62,426 in Sumter, completed the two-shot series Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, or the single dose vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson through Wednesday – the latest information contained in Thursday’s update. The majority – 89,668 in Lake County and 58,445 in Sumter – received the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines.
State officials announced recently the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will no longer be used until researchers investigate a possible link between it and potentially deadly blood clots.
