Mercedes-Benz is one car manufacturer that always pushes the boundaries of new vehicle tech. Its rapid expansion into the world of electric vehicles is seriously impressive, and with its latest offering, the EQA, which is basically an electrified Mercedes-Benz GLA, the company is clearly moving in a new and exciting direction. Not only is the launch of cleaner and more efficient cars important to the brand, but so are the services that run in the background to keep its cars on the road. Mercedes-Benz is now expanding its capability to keep in-vehicle programs up to date via over the air updates. The company describes it as updates that turn into upgrades .
BMW s M performance division no longer builds standard M cars. For many buyers, models like the M3, M4, and M5 provide the ideal balance between high performance and daily drivers. But the true M enthusiast always wants something more, and the folks at Munich have responded with their CS (Club Sport) models, such as the amazing M2 CS.
And now the 2022 BMW M5 CS sedan has arrived, a lighter, more powerful version of the already impressive F90 generation M5. Like all CS models, the new M5 CS focuses on two major things: additional power and reducing weight. Engineers have managed to accomplish both and then some.
Year-on-year sales were down by as whopping 68 percent.
The global pandemic had a huge impact on new car sales in 2020, but it wasn t bad news for every automaker. Many car manufacturers still managed to end the year on a high with record sales months. Subaru s US sales, for example, were up by 16 percent in September 2020 compared to September 2019 thanks to popular models like the Forester. In December 2020, Subaru shipped 63,558 in the US, a two percent increase compared to the same month in 2019.
It s a different story in the UK, however, where Subaru s sales figures were alarmingly low in 2020. Autocar reports Subaru delivered just 951 cars in the UK last year compared to just under 3,000 the year before - that s a dramatic year-on-year drop of over 68 percent. Ouch. 2020 was a horrible year, said Subaru UK Managing Director, John Hurtig.
Those who thought Mercedes would call it a day with electric vehicles following the launch of EQC SUV were wrong. The all-new 2021 Mercedes-Benz EQA is the German luxury automaker s second all-electric model that targets buyers considering the Tesla Model Y. For now, the EQA is an overseas model only but Mercedes hasn t ruled out bringing it to North America. It s likely only a matter of time because the EQA has a lot going for it, from its slick exterior and interior styling, through connectivity and driver-assist systems, to its advanced battery-electric powertrain.
The EQ range of electric vehicles will soon expand even further and the EQA is considered to be the entry-level model. But don t let that fool you; the EQA is a seriously luxury compact crossover in every way. As such, it won t come cheap.
