Hard times have a way of bringing people together, and residents in Parker and Palo Pinto counties this week did exactly that, with neighbor helping neighbor through issues brought on this week by the winter storms.

Volunteers distributed nearly 15 pallets of bottled Crazy Water to Mineral Wells residents Thursday afternoon as the city continued to deal with water issues caused by leaks. More distribution was expected Friday and Saturday.
Freezing temperatures, little to no water and power outages wreaked havoc across the area this week, and even after temperatures reached the mid to high 30s Friday, many residents were left dealing with lingering issues caused by the winter storms.
Weatherford resident Judy Privette, who lives on the south side of town, said her household lost power early Monday morning.
On Tuesday, both toilets in the house froze. Water dripped out of the bathtub faucet just enough for it to be used to flush the toilets.

Founded in 1982 and serving 13 North Texas counties, Tarrant Area Food Bank is set to open a new location in Parker County â TAFB West.
âThis is something that the food bank has wanted to do for a long time and weâve just never had the ability to do it,â TAFB President and CEO Julie Butner said. âWith the community growing and growing so much into Parker County, the need was there even before the [COVID-19] pandemic and now with the pandemic, itâs just really forced our hand to do it now because weâre at
