Brian Rehg makes move to Alpha Hart Elementary as interim principal

Courtesy of Columbia Public Schools Rehg will start as interim principal in the 2021-2022 school year and will take over for current principal De Vion Moore. Moore will become assistant superintendent for elementary education.  Rehg currently serves as the assistant principal at Parkade Elementary School. He previously spent 10 years as a first, second and fourth grade teacher. Rehg will be no stranger to some parents and students. The Board approved an attendance area change for Parkade last month. Approximately 100 students will transition from Parkade to Alpha Hart.  “We’re excited to have Brian Rehg as part of the Alpha Hart Lewis community and to be a part of the transition of many Parkade families to their new school this fall. He will be a great part of their school-community and will do an outstanding job,” Superintendent Peter Stiepleman said in the release.

Columbia Board of Education votes to change attendance boundary in first phase, real estate experts weigh in COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) The Columbia Board of Education voted to approve the first phase of attendance boudary changes which will move about 100 students next fall. District leaders and the company contracted to look into any potential changes Cooperative Strategies recommended the Phase 1 Elementary Attendance Area Boundaries for Parkade Elementary to the Board of Education, which was meant to alleviate overcrowding at Parkade Elementary School. Watch the meeting in the video player below. According to Cooperative Strategies, Parkade Elementary is currently at 130% capacity and is slated to be at 142% by 2024. The plan includes moving students to Alpha Hart Elementary School.

According to its website, Cooperative Strategies specializes in school facility management and educational program planning. According to the agenda, Cooperative Strategies will recommend the Phase 1 Elementary Attendance Area Boundaries for Parkade Elementary to the Board of Education.
