Maria Fareri Children s Hospital set to host car safety check event

Maria Fareri Children s Hospital in Valhalla is kicking off a car seat safety check event to prevent and reduce the number of children injured in car accidents.
The hospital says 10% of children admitted to the hospital are children injured in car accidents.
Summertime means road trips and travel, which means plenty of time spent in the car. Maria Fareri Children s Hospital in Valhalla wants to make sure all that car time is safe for children.
According to Pediatric Trauma Director of Nursing John Fisher, hospital officials during the event will make sure car seats are appropriate the child, that the seat is not expired and that it is positioned properly.

XO, Marla Beth ‘happy art’ canvases to staff and patients at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), in honor of Valentine’s Day.
“As a mom, I’m touched by the life-changing work performed by the team at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital,” said Enowitz. “The arts are so important for children – as an emotional outlet, growth opportunity and, sometimes, a much needed distraction. My hope is to bring a smile to some of these amazing families and the staff that do so much for them.”
