LAHORE: Prominent political personalities of PP-164, under the leadership of PML-N candidate for Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Zain Shaukat Dagran, called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi here on Sunday, and announced joining the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q).
PMLQ Punjab General Secretary Senator Kamil Ali Agha was also present in the meeting.
Parvez Elahi said, “We have always provided the people possessing the spirit of selfless service for the progress of the country and the nation, with an opportunity to come forward and join the PML”.
He said Pakistan is passing through difficult times, and all will have to play their role for stabilising it economically by ignoring personal differences. He said just one person alone could not do anything to establish the name of a country at the international level. LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), an important ally of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led coalition government, has finally got a second ministry in the Centre under the agreement both parties had at the time of 2018 general elections.
Moonis Elahi, the scion of the Chaudhry family of Gujrat, was inducted into the cabinet as federal minister for water resources.
Before him, Minister for Housing and Works Tariq Bashir Cheema was the only PML-Q leader serving in the federal cabinet.

ISLAMABAD/LAHORE: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and the Lahore-based Joint Action Committee (JAC) have rejected the amended Punjab Assembly Privileges Bill 2021 terming it an eyewash aimed at cooling down the tempers of the journalists’ community.
“The PFUJ and Action Committee rejects the amended bill as notified by the speaker of the Punjab Assembly on Monday through a press release and demand that Section 21 of the controversial bill be totally abolished,” PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfikar and Secretary General Nasir Zaidi said in a joint press statement issued in Islamabad on Monday.
