Subscriber only THE frontman of Ngukurr band Lonely Boys has been identified as the person who died in a pedestrian hit over the weekend. The man, who cannot be named for cultural reasons, is the second Lonely Boys band member to have died in a car related accident in the last few years. Skinnyfish Music released a statement advising of the lead singer s death.

The lead singer of acclaimed Northern Territory rock band
The Lonely Boys has died after a pedestrian accident near his hometown on Saturday night.
The 36-year-old man was involved in an accident on the Roper Highway, near Ngukurr in southern Arnhem Land.
The Lonely Boys emerged after winning the Barunga Festival s Battle of the Bands in 2006 and made their debut album the following year.
The ensuring decade or so saw the band grow to become one of the region s most beloved outfits, quickly becoming revered for their energetic live performances across Northern Territory communities.
