The Renault Megane-e, shown in concept form, will be speed-limited to 180 kph and be equipped with other new safety features such as a QR code that gives rescue workers structural information, Renault CEO Luca de Meo said.
PARIS Renault Group says it will add a 180 kph (112 mph) speed limiter to Renault and Dacia brand models to help reduce traffic accidents, following a similar move by Volvo, as part of the automaker’s environmental and social strategy.
Renault did not say whether all the group’s models would have the limiter. Future high-performance models will be branded as Alpine rather than Renault, CEO Luca de Meo has said.
