A businessman has been fined £700 after admitting threatening behaviour during the test drive of a Bentley.
Richard Malcolm Powell, aged 60, of Lhergy Cripperty, Union Mills, was arrested after an incident at Island Tyres and Exhaust on South Quay in Douglas.
Charges of driving while disqualified and a section 2 offence against him were withdrawn.
Prosecuting advocate Barry Swain told the court that Powell went to Jackson’s car salesroom on July 16.
He wanted to test drive the Bentley but asked a member of staff there to drive it for him as he was disqualified at the time.

A woman has appeared in court after being arrested when she failed to turn up for her trial.
Hannah Thomson, aged 35, of Tromode House, Douglas, was due to face a trial on Monday (December 14) after pleading not guilty to a charge of vagrancy.
However, she didn’t turn up despite being bailed to appear on that date.
She was found guilty by magistrates in her absence and then arrested after a warrant was issued.
Thomson appeared in court on Tuesday and claimed that on her last court appearance, magistrates had told her they ’would not be concerned’ if she didn’t attend the trial.

A 42-year-old woman has admitted being involved in money laundering after she tried to send £5,000 cash in the post.
Lisa Kim Barnett was arrested after a package intended for an address in Walton, Liverpool, was intercepted at the Post Office sorting office.
It was found to contain a box of Milk Tray chocolates with £5,000 in cash hidden in the bottom of the box.
She pleaded guilty to a charge of attempting to remove criminal property from the island and will be sentenced on January 22 next year after a probation report has been completed.
Prosecuting advocate Barry Swain told the court that police were called to the sorting office on June 11.

A 26-year-old man has admitted driving while disqualified just 48 hours after being released from prison.
Craig Jack Anderson was released on December 3 but on December 5 police saw him driving in Peel despite still being under a ban.
He pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and having no insurance and will be sentenced on January 21 after a probation report has been prepared.
Prosecuting advocate Barry Swain told the court how Anderson was disqualified for three months on September 25 as part of his sentence so his ban was due to end on Christmas Day.
That sentence also involved custody imposed at the Court of General Gaol Delivery and Anderson was released on December 3.
