A $7.5-million broadband project will bring high-speed internet access to more than 1,100 homes and businesses in Middlesex County by mid-2022.
Southwestern Ontario Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) has awarded contracts to six internet providers to bring 109 kilometres of underserved roadways in Middlesex County online.

WOONSOCKET – In a clear airing of their views on the subject, a majority of Woonsocket School Committee members last week said they have no interest in Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt’s proposal to develop Barry Field.
The conversation took place during a School Committee meeting last Wednesday, Feb. 10, just one week after members discussed the subject in closed session. Chairman Paul Bourget asked members to each share their opinion on the issue. He’s made his own views clear in previous comments and repeated them again last week.
“The one thing that the city has, it has plenty of parks, but it doesn’t have much open land,” he said, adding he’d say no to the project if asked today.
Appgate, a Miami-based cybersecurity platform provider, has agreed to merge with publicly traded shell company Newtown Lane Marketing. The merger is expected to be finalized in the second quarter of 2021 and will provide Appgate access to capital to scale, advance growth initiatives and accelerate go-to-market strategies as part of a publicly traded combined entity.
