Govt did not cause the personal issue that led WAF CEO to resign - Usamate
Infrastructure Minister Jone Usamate says there seems to be an insinuation that the government caused the personal issue that led the Water Authority of Fiji CEO to leave and nothing could be further from the truth.
Usamate told parliament today that the outgoing CEO of WAF Barry Omundson has left because there is a certain personal issue in relation to his family that he has to attend to.
He says we should not be making insinuations of this kind without any evidence.
Usamate adds as Minister responsible, he has been in touch with Omundson.

Minister for Infrastructure Jone Usamate says the recent resignation of the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) chief executive officer, Barry Omundson, was for personal reasons.
Mr Usamate said this in Parliament while responding to Opposition MP Aseri Radrodro’s statement on Mr Omundson’s exit.
“There seems to be an insinuation from the honourable member that somehow Government caused this personal issue, on behalf of the resignation of WAF CEO but nothing can be further from the truth,” he said.
