A COMMUNITY interest company (CIC) that uses an app with touch screen technology to help those with dementia and their carers create digital multimedia life story books is set to create one for Ruthin. Working on a Stori Rhuthun project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Book of You CIC is teaming up with Ruthin Town Council to create a digital story book filled with memories of the area. Ruthin Town Council secured a National Lottery Heritage Fund of £6,700 to carry out the community heritage project. Working with local people and organisations, Stori Rhuthun will provide opportunities for residents of Ruthin to discover more and/or share their knowledge about the local history.
For the Gilmore Car Museum the holidays aren t over, but just getting started, as they ve announced they ll be hosting Free Sleigh Rides Thursdays In January. The sleigh rides don t actually take place inside a sleigh, but in an authentic Ford Model AA truck from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. They re doing what they can to keep the holiday spirit alive during the pandemic and this is another great activity to take part in.
The page boast that they re offering: FREE “glorified sleigh rides” through the snow-covered Gilmore campus, riding on bench seats in the bed of a classic Ford Model AA pickup truck! Enjoy a fun, memorable outdoor winter experience for museum guests and their families. Be sure to bring your warm coats, hats, gloves, and perhaps even blankets. Rides will be provided one guest/family/group at a time, masks will be required, and the truck’s bench seating will be sanitized between each ride.
Youngsters can also enjoy the playground as usual as long as social distancing rules are observed. However many of the popular site s family attractions will be closed until further notice including the children s zoo, glasshouses and adventure golf. A spokesman said: Our zoo rangers will be caring for the animals as usual, and you can catch up with their exploits on our social media pages. Although this isn’t how we wanted to celebrate the end of the year, we understand that safety is most important. Therefore, there are a few changes to what you can do here at Walton Hall and Gardens.
