Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with economists and sectoral experts on Friday to mull over measures that could possibly be included in the upcoming budget in the wake of the uncertainty created in the market due to COVID-19.
The government think-tank Niti Aayog is organising the meeting virtually and it will be attended by Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar and Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant. The Prime Minister will meet economists on Friday to seek their inputs for the next budget, a government official told PTI on condition of anonymity.

Centre invites expressions of interest for 26% stake sale in BEML IANS
New Delhi: The Central government has invited expressions of interest (EoI) for the strategic sale of 26 per cent stake in Bharat Earth-Movers Ltd (BEML).
BEML is a ‘Miniratna’ Category-1 Public Sector Undertaking, under the administrative control of Ministry of Defence. The government currently holds 54.03 per cent stake in it.
“Govt has issued the PIM/EOI for disinvestment of 26 per cent equity share capital of BEML Ltd along with transfer of management control. Disinvestment will be through a two stage competitive bidding process,” said a tweet by the Twitter handle of the Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management.
