Kudos and congratulations to everyone who has received both shots of the vaccine Covaxin or Covishield. However, in a bit of a bummer to those who have got the former, you might not be allowed to make international trips just yet. The Bharat Biotech vaccine has been left out of WHO s Emergency Use Listing (EUL), reported various outlets.
New Delhi [India]: Bharat Biotech is confident about obtaining the World Health Organization s (WHO) Emergency Use Listing for its COVID-19 vaccine given its experience of getting its other vaccines pre-qualified and has submitted 90 per cent of the documentation required for EUL by the global health body, sources said on Monday.
A meeting has been held with Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL) on the status of application for WHO s EUL for Covaxin, developed by the Hyderabad-based agency in collaboration with ICMR.
The attended was attended by Dr V Krishna Mohan, MD, Bharat Biotech International Ltd., and his colleagues with senior officers of the Ministry of Health, Department of Biotechnology and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the sources said.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, wgi is on a visit to New York and Washington DC, from May 24 to 27, is expected to discuss the AstraZeneca vaccine with the Biden administration. The U.S. government is sending 60 million doses of this vaccine abroad and some of it is likely to be given to India which faces shortage.

Bharat Biotech expects EUL from WHO for Covaxin in July- September
Bharat Biotech on Tuesday said it expects approval for its COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin from the World Health Organisation for Emergency Use Listing (EUL) during July-September. The company said regulatory approvals for Covaxin are in process in more than 60 countries including the USA, Brazil
and Hungary among others. Application for EUL has been submitted to WHO-Geneva. Regulatory approvals are expected during July-September 2021, it said in a release.
Emergency Use Listing (EUL) is a procedure to streamline the process by which new or unlicensed products can be used during public health emergencies, according to WHO guidelines.
