Print article An unsentenced inmate was pronounced dead Thursday after he suffered a medical emergency in his cell at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer, according to the Alaska Department of Corrections. Gregory Rendon-Duarte, 39, was found unresponsive by correctional officers, and medical staff began lifesaving measures before the arrival of emergency medical personnel. Rendon-Duarte was pronounced dead just before 8 a.m. Thursday, a statement from the department said. Rendon-Duarte is the fifth inmate to die in the department’s custody this year. Officials said they do not suspect foul play and the death is not related to COVID-19.

Mat-Su troopers received a 911 call from a residence in Willow early Saturday morning and heard a female screaming and immediately responded to lend assistance, the trooper report revealed.
When they arrived at the scene on Long Lake Road, they observed 41-year-old Timothy Urovak standing over the victim with a knife threatening to kill her. Troopers immediately disarmed him and opened an investigation into the incident. That investigation would find that Urovak had strangled the victim, threatened to stab her with the knife as he physically assaulted her.

A Wasilla woman was arrested after being taken down by K9 Blitz on Thursday evening according to AST reports.
At 5:41 pm, troopers responded to a Wasilla residence after receiving reports that a woman, later identified as 39-year-old Kathryn Stanley, “was standing on her front porch shooting a shotgun towards nearby residences,” troopers said. In addition, Stanley was reported to have threatened a neighbor with the weapon.
After responding, an investigation was opened up and negotiations with Stanley was initiated. Negotiations were futile and South Central SERT was activated.

Troopers on Palmer responded to 5050 South Old Glenn Highway at 10:26 pm on Tuesday night after receiving a disturbance report from that address that resulted in two arrests according to the report.
When they arrived they opened an investigation that determined that a 36-year-old female, identified as Autumn Ehrlinspiel, had kicked in her neighbor’s door. When trooper McKenny made contact with her, she proceeded to resist arrest and fought with him. She was ultimately taken into custody.
Further investigation would find that a resident in the home, 44-year-old Phillip Townsend, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for not appearing on a previous DUI charge. He too would resist arrest and fought with Trooper McKenny.

On Wednesday night at 8:15 pm, troopers with the Criminal Suppression Unit in Wasilla pulled over a vehicle on Old Matanuska Road in a traffic stop that resulted in a passenger being arrested on warrants.
Troopers made contact with a front seat passenger, who feigned autism in an effort to avoid arrest. But, unfortunately for the suspect, the officers at the scene were familiar with him from prior contacts, and knew he was not autistic.
The suspect would be identified as 24-year-old Jacob McAnulty and found to be the subject of multiple warrants that included failure to remand on DUI and Assault with Weapon convictions. A short time later, McAnulty forgot that he was faking autism as he had previously pretended to be, troopers reported.
