CHELSEA A 40-year-old homeless man at the center of a controversy over alleged break-ins in the Chelsea area is back in jail.
Scott A. Irish was charged Sunday with violating the conditions of his release by moving from a wooded area in Washington, Vt., to a friend’s house in Topsham, Vt., without informing the Orange Superior Court clerks office. Irish had been ordered to notify court officials before he moved as part of his conditions of release on a burglary charge out of Washington County from June 1.

Funding will provide operations support at CenterPoint Recovery Center

PADUCAH, Ky. (July 9, 2021) – On Friday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced a $200,000 award to help the CenterPoint Recovery Center for Men address the continuing need for substance use disorder residential treatment in McCracken County.
“Today’s announcement aligns with one of my administration’s top values: improving health care – both physical and mental,” said Gov. Beshear. “My faith tells me that second chances are possible and that we are our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers. That is the mission here at CenterPoint, as they deliver comprehensive treatment and recovery support, which is an important display of Kentuckians helping one another.”

Green Up Day is coming this Saturday, May 1. Continuing a 51-year tradition, this is the day when volunteers from all over the state pitch in to pick up trash along Vermontâs roadways.
How does Green-Up Day work? Fill your bag with paper, cans, and roadside trash. With COVID in mind, volunteers are asked to wear a mask and remember social distancing. Bright clothes and facing oncoming traffic helps cars avoid you. Insect repellent, gloves and boots protect against dirt and ticks. Children should tell adults if they find medical waste. (Use gloves and pliers or tongs to pick up needles and secure in a thick plastic container, ideally marked Medical Waste.)
The event is scheduled at 4 – 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4 and will air live on CAT-TV channel 1075 and facebook.com/CATTVBennington. It is free and no registration is needed. This event is appropriate for people with substance use disorder and their families and anyone interested in decreasing substance use in our communities. Participants will gain hopeful insights on how they, their friends, and neighbors can navigate the transition from substance abuse to a healthy and happy substance-free lifestyle. Aulicino is a registered nurse within Vermont s Hub and Spoke program for substance abuse recovery. In addition, she is a medication-assisted treatment nurse liaison with Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and a member of the International Nursing Society on Addictions.
