VOLUNTEERS managed to fill two skips with 83 tyres hauled from a brook running through Winwick. Members of Winwick Litter Network and Resolution Running Club in Newton-le-Willows carried out the clean-up along Hermitage Green Lane this morning, Tuesday. Some of the tyres belonged to large trucks, with the rusted metal alloy still attached in some cases. Other items pulled from the greenery included lawnmowers, vacuum cleaners and even the front end of a car.
