Re: Central Park â Cutting the heart out of a city
Despite the mayor and councilâs belief that they could stifle freedom of thought and speech during a pandemic, the opposition to any housing development in Central Park is growing every day. Within one week, over 400 signatures were collected online at âSave Central Park Kenoraâ at change.org. Within two weeks, petitions were being circulated on the streets surrounding the park, in senior citizenâs homes, at storefronts, and in many other areas. Within a week, a citizen volunteered his own time and money to launch a letter-writing campaign to solicit signatures. Volunteers to oppose councilâs hasty and heavy-handed decision have been numerous and have come forward with recommendations for further action.
