Announcing a draft policy, Faridabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Garima Mittal today said the MC was ready to rehabilitate Khori village oustees who faced house demolition.
Flats for Oustees
Eligible oustees will be allotted flats at Dabua Colony and Bapu Nagar
Rs3.70 lakh will be the flat cost with Rs17,000 to be paid as down payment
The beneficiaries will have to vacate their houses at Khori colony before the demolition date
Mohammed Salim of the Majdoor Awas Sangharsh Samiti, Khori village, said a comprehensive survey should be undertaken to identify beneficiaries and they should be given a reasonable time to prove their respective claims. The MC Commissioner said the oustees would have to produce voter card, Parivar Pehchan Patra or DHBVN (power) connection papers issued before January 1, 2021, to claim rehabilitation.

“Now he will pour diesel on the pyre to make it burn quickly,” says G. Ramulu watching from the terrace of his three-storeyed house in Bapu Nagar. And just as he predicts, a crematorium worker runs with a jerrycan of fuel and sloshes it over the wood pile making the fire roar into the air.
Four other pyres burn simultaneously, and two more bodies arrive in ambulances in quick succession at noon time on Saturday. The trees in the crematorium have turned brown by the continuous burning of corpses of COVID patients.

Hyderabad: A man was arrested by the city police for trying to sell expired food products worth Rs 1,50,000 here on Monday.
Acting on information received, the Langer House police on Sunday raided over a godown named ‘Jai Sri Ram agencies’ situated at Bapu Nagar and caught the prime accused who was identified as Komati Laxmi Narayana for altering the expired dates (to fresh dates) to supply them to people and shopkeepers.
