Casualty Casualty - why has Leon Cook left already and will he be back? It s been short but sweet. It s been short but sweet, but Casualty fans said goodbye to Leon Cook tonight (May 1) as his time with the ambulance crew came to an end. The paramedic, who joined the show earlier this year, was seen walking away from the hospital at the end of the episode, after being turned down for a more permanent role on the team. But is this really the last we ll see of Leon? Here s a quick recap of what we know about his departure– and what happens next.

Bobby Lockwood: I m proud to have been part of Casualty

Suited and booted out? Moments before his interview Leon discovers he s competing with Iain Casualty favourite Leon Cook makes a shock exit this week. Actor Bobby Lockwood reveals more Casualty paramedic Leon Cook has been a lovely addition to Holby ED’s ambulance crew. Unfortunately Leon’s time with the Holby team is cut short this week, after he applies for a permanent job with Jan Jenning and her merry medics. Enthusiastic Leon wants nothing more than to become a part of the family, but the shock revelation that more experienced medic Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson) is also interviewing for the job leaves Leon convinced his days in Holby are numbered. And, sadly, he’s not wrong, as this Saturday’s Casualty sees Leon hanging up his green uniform and moving to London.

Casualty to air twice next weekend as it faces scheduling changes

Casualty is set to air two episodes next weekend on BBC One, breaking from tradition. The broadcaster has released its schedule for the soap over the next two weeks, and while this weekend (May 1) will go ahead with one episode as per usual, the following week will have a change-up. Saturday, May 8 will air its first episode at 8.40pm, with the follow-up showing straight after at 9.20pm. BBC While it is unclear exactly why the schedule has been altered, the most probable reason is the Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place on May 22. This will likely cause the soap to miss its weekly appointment, which might be the reason why it s airing two episodes ahead of time to keep up with its own schedule further down the line.

Casualty confirms Leon exit - here s when his final scenes air

It s definitely a shame for fans that he s only been on Casualty for such a short time, but at least the character isn t being killed off and gets to say a proper goodbye. Viewers praised the powerful performance from actor Gabriella Leon, as well as the show for raising awareness of date rape. Casualty airs on Saturday nights on BBC One.
