Despite an 11-day fight in the intensive care unit battling COVID-19 and pneumonia, Patton wants nothing more than to regain his strength and get back to the hospital as a volunteer rather than a patient.

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. â A COVID-19 and Pneumonia patient from Muskegon Heights didn t think he would make it out of the hospital, but after weeks of rehabilitation, he is home.
During the four weeks at Mary Free Bed as a COVID-19 patient, Bobbie Patton kept pushing. In my mind, this was my only chance, Patton said. And I had an opportunity, I was going to take advantage of it.
He s been overcoming health challenges that started in his 20 s.
