Pan Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has on Friday, through George Obiozor, it’s President General called on the youths of Southeast Nigeria not to resort to violence in their agitation for a Sovereign state of Biafra.
Obiozor further condemned President Muhammadu Buhari’s fire spitting statement, especially reference to the civil war, asking the Federal Government to probe the atrocities committed by trigger-happy security officials in the South East in recent times.
Obiozor told journalists in Enugu: “The last time I checked or heard a President speak of shock and awe, it was reserved for the enemy, not the citizens.”
Pan Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately withdraw comments where he threatened to unleash mayhem on Pro-Biafran agitators.
Buhari had in a tweet vowed to inflict ‘civil war’ like violence on those against his Government.
The tweet received wild condemnation, with Twitter deleting it as being against its rules.
Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the Secretary General of the organization asked Buhari to “quickly rescind the threats of repeating the episode of the civil war experience which killed 3 million Igbo people and wreaked havoc on Igbo properties.
“Mr. President should also tender an unreserved apology to Ndigbo for the civil war carnage against Southeast.”
Pan Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has advised President Muhammadu Buhari, Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President and other notable personalities in the country to avoid flying private jets pending the outcome of a thorough investigation into the military plane crash that occurred on Friday claiming the live of Nigeria’s Chief of Army, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru.
Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the Secretary General of the group disclosed that the airforce plan crash was ‘suspicious’ and had signs of a ‘possible Sabotage’.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide consoles with President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerian Army over the demise of Lt- General Ibrahim Attahiru and ten others in the air force plane crash in Kaduna on Friday 21/5/21. This is perceived as a result of sabotage that should be investigated and the late Army chief with others had paid the Supreme prices for peace to return to Northern Nigeria.”
