BANNOCK COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - Bannock County Dispatch will be sending out an AlertSense notification Friday between 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. in an attempt to test the notification system.
The notification is designed to address the Pocatello Creek and Buckskin area.
The North Bannock Fire Department asks you complete the survey in the notification to help them identify any issues.
If you’ve signed up previously, they ask you verify your information is still correct.

FORT HALL A pair of fires on the Fort Hall Reservation was fully extinguished Monday but not until after a home was lost.
Firefighters from the Fort Hall Fire Department were called to a structure fire just after 4 p.m., according to a Facebook post from the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes. With assistance from the North Bannock Fire Department, the fire was extinguished. However, the home was a “total loss,” the post reads, and a nearby home was also damaged by the heat.
No other information was available, according to the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes spokeswoman Randy’L Teton, as the cause of the fire is currently being investigated.

CHUBBUCK When Jorge Santos got the call that the North Bannock Fire Department would be joining other local crews at the Chinese Peak Fire on July 19, 2020, it meant a little extra for him.
Santos and his family lived in the area. So not only was he battling a blaze that would eventually scorch more than 1,500 acres, he was doing so while casting a shadow near his own home.
