My daughter has been hospitalized twice this school year due to the stress and pressure this past year has brought upon her, including body image issues, which she is still seeking regular treatment for, Bartlett said in an email to St. Augustine Record, which is part of the USA TODAY Network. And now, the school has made a decision that is now drawing attention to her body in a negative way.

According to Christina Langston, school district spokeswoman, the school s yearbook coordinator, Anne Irwin, who is a teacher, decided that the photos were out of dress code and did some of the editing.

That s because 80 of the students portraits were digitally edited many of them clumsily to add more clothing to chests and shoulders.
All of the students are female. None of them were consulted.
Students and parents told local news outlets that they were shocked and embarrassed when they got their copies of the $100 yearbook last week.

It’s not odd for there to be a little drama when high school yearbooks are released at the end of the year, but at Bartram Trail High School in St. Johns County, Fla., the drama has reached national attention.
More than 4,000 high school seniors in the Elk Grove Unified School District will get to do something few thought would be possible celebrate graduation in person.The state s fifth-largest school district has come up with a plan that will allow graduating seniors to walk across the stage, in person and with their classmates, starting Monday.Over a three-day period, 13 schools will hold commencement ceremonies at two outdoor venues.Cosumnes Oaks High School will host its graduation ceremony and Laguna Creek s on Monday; Elk Grove Charter, Rio Cazadero, Calvine and Las Flores high schools Tuesday; and Franklin High School on Wednesday.Monterey Trail High School will host its own ceremony and Valley High s on Monday; Florin and Pleasant Grove high schools on Tuesday, and Sheldon and Elk Grove high schools on Wednesday.Many performances from band to dance will take place on large video screens.Each student will be allotted four tickets for guests in an effort to reduce crowd size.
