ELECTION RESULTS: Progressives Win School Board, Levy Passes
May 18, 2021
Tuesday night, progressives decisively won Corvallis’ School Board races, with three incumbents retaining their seats, and newcomer Shauna Tominey winning the only seat not contested by an incumbent. The Public Health & Safety Levy renewal, a tax levy decided by voters every five years, also passed.
The ostensibly nonpartisan School Board race was especially heated this year, with conservatives allying to challenge a Board that is widely seen as progressive. For their part, progressives similarly allied to defend their seats, and take a seat, after conservative Board member Jay Conroy chose not to seek reelection.
