Reminder over traffic light system in place at Lake District car parks

THE Lake District National Park Authority (LDNPA) has issued a reminder that it is operating a traffic light system at its car parks. The public can find out how busy car parks are via a list on the authority s website. Car parks are given a red (busy), amber (fairly busy), green (not very busy) or black (closed) rating to help people plan their journeys accordingly. An LDNPA spokesman said on social media: Heading to the Lake District? Plan your journey using our Safer Lakes web pages to check car park availability and ideas for your adventure. The page is updated every day between 9am and 5pm.
