According to National Cancer Registry Programme Report, the number of cancer cases in India is likely to rise to more than 15 million by 2025. Researchers from India s IIT-Bombay institute developed the country s first indigenous CAR-T therapy using clinical inputs from a team of oncologists with the goal of making the treatment cost-effective.

Coronasomnia is a new term that has been coined taking into consideration the sleep-deprived state caused due to insomnia, which has been largely triggered by the coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Anamika Rathore, consultant ENT/endoscopic sinus and sleep apnea surgeon, Bhatia Hospital Mumbai pointed out few factors that have resulted in sleep deprivation, also known as insomnia.

This pandemic has also led to rising cases of insomnia due to a variety of reasons, in turn, leading to the coining of the term ‘coronasomnia’. According to Dr Anamika Rathore, consultant ENT/endoscopic sinus and sleep apnea surgeon, Bhatia Hospital Mumbai, some of the factors are:
Stress: Fear of getting infected, spreading infection, watching too much news, feeling helpless, unable to meet covid-infected family members etc.
Change in daily routine: Lack of physical activity, online work, excess work at home with no breaks and outings, sometimes excessive daytime sleeping leading to insomnia, increased screen time
