Best local Paso Robles rosé wines for the holidays

Rosé has come along way from the white zinfandel I remember my relatives drinking at family get-togethers. Today’s Paso Robles’ rosés are sophisticated and delicious. These Paso Robles rosé wines will pair well with lighter fare, appetizers like prosciutto-wrapped melon, smoked salmon and deviled eggs. They will also go well with baked ham, pork tenderloin and white meat of roasted turkey. For all the holiday chefs out there, consider enjoying rosé wines yourself as your prepare holiday meals. Remember to serve them chilled. Enjoy! Recommended Paso Robles rosé wines for the holidays This wine has an array of delicate red berry fruit characters that flow through the palate and meld beautifully with the balancing bright acidity. Skin contact was used in fermentation to add a hint of firmness to the palate so the wine finishes clean in your mouth.

Looking Back: City swelters under heat wave, children enjoy park, dog wears shoes

City swelters under heatwave; report prostrations -The sweltering heatwave which descended upon the central coast area of California early last week, continues unabated today, with little relief in sight. Temperatures in Paso Robles have been variously reported from 102 degrees to as high as 114 degrees in the shade during the week. Citizens, for the most part, have been content to mop perspiring brows and comment that “it might be worse.” Tourists have flocked to garages and filling stations, to drain rusty water from the radiators of their autos, many of which have been boiling furiously. Those who have been able to do so, have flocked to cool beaches, or left for vacations in the more temperate northern sections of the coast.
