POPLARVILLE, Miss. (WDAM) - The Pearl River football staff was elated to announce their 2021 signing class Wednesday afternoon. The class represents the first group head coach Seth Smith and his staff have been able to recruit for a calendar year. While the COVID-19 pandemic complicated the way teams can recruit, Smith is confident the class will shine over the next two years for the Wildcats.

MOSS POINT, Miss. (WLOX) - Moss Point police are searching for 15-year-old Korey Monroe wanted for capital murder. Police said once arrested, Monroe will be charged as an adult in the killing of 19-year-old Caleb Lett. Police said Lett was shot and killed Monday night during an armed robbery on Woodlawn Avenue.
Lett was a 2020 graduate of Moss Point High School, a member of the band, and an honor student. His murder is leading people in Moss Point to call for change, hoping to put an end to the trend of violence.

PASCAGOULA, Miss., Jan. 20, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (NYSE: HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding division has awarded $99,890 in grants to 26 schools and educational organizations in Mississippi and Alabama for science, technology, engineering and math initiatives.
“The educators receiving these awards are innovators and strong advocates for science, technology, engineering and math,” Ingalls Shipbuilding President Brian Cuccias said. “Ingalls remains committed to supporting programs that cultivate talent in these important fields.”
Ingalls has awarded more than $1.2 million for local STEM-related educational projects over the past 13 years.
