The Pontiac Fire Department has had a busy couple of weeks, including responding to a house fire earlier this week where two people were injured.
PFD Chief Jake Campbell released information on the fire at 325 E. Chestnut St. Wednesday. He said the fire was called in at 1:18 p.m. and that “Upon arrival, the Pontiac Fire Department shift commander reported a working fire at a two and half story wood frame house that was converted into a two unit apartment complex. Pontiac Police Officers on scene informed Pontiac Fire Command that there were two victims with injuries found in the yard. Duffy Ambulance arrived on scene and began treating the two victims and then transported both of them to OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac. Pontiac firefighters immediately stretched a hoseline and extinguished the fire and began a primary search of the residence for additional victims.
