When Brad Wilson was searching for the right spot to open up a second brewing facility, Hanover was far from his mind. With his first location, Sign of the Horse Brewery, already firmly planted near downtown, he was looking to expand his footprint outside the area.
However, that all changed last month when Miscreation Brewing Company, located at 6 Center Square, announced they would be closing for good after five-and-a-half years of business.
“I just remember that spot being a brewery downtown on the corner…and I just didn t want to see that go away,” Wilson said.
And so, a brewery it will remain. Wilson and his wife, Melissa, along with their team at Sign of the Horse, will open Zeichen des Pferdes Bierhaus on March 31 in the same space Miscreation occupied.

The sons of the state Senateâs two top leaders are both registered lobbyists for the same firm that lobbies on behalf of some of the stateâs largest corporations, records show.
Mike Ward, the son of Majority Leader Kim Ward, and Anthony Costa, the son of Minority Leader Jay Costa, are both Pittsburgh-based lobbyists for lobbying firm Cameron Companies.Â
Cameron Companies was established in 2007 and has employed the sons since at least 2019. Anthony Costa filed as a lobbyist in January 2021, but began lobbying in January 2020, according to his filing.
Cameron Companiesâ dozens of clients include health care companies like Independence Blue Cross, massive corporations like 3M Companies, business associations like the Pennsylvania Health Care Association, the snack delivery company goPuff and Philadelphiaâs National Constitution Center.
