Scott Perry must be stopped | PennLive letters

Scott Perry must be stopped | PennLive letters Updated Jan 30, 2021; Congressman Scott Perry must be stopped. Law enforcement identified white supremacists as the most lethal domestic terrorist threat to our country. The US issued a terrorism alert warning of politically motivated violence. We have over thirty hate groups reportedly active in PA and our House and Senate have moved to introduce hate crime legislation. Yet Perry, a U.S. Army War College grad, with a Master’s in Strategic Studies weaponized disingenuous and dangerous misinformation, calling all Pennsylvanians to action with his lies. Perry posted January 5th, “When Members of our PA General Assembly have concerns, and it’s my duty to have concerns as well. The PA Senate has overwhelmingly asked Congress to DELAY certification of the Electoral College to allow for due process in the pursuit of election integrity in a key case before SCOTUS I’m obliged to concur.

Every county in the state currently has a percent positivity above 5%, which is deemed concerning, and while two counties have rates over 20%, that does make for a decrease of two counties from last week’s report.

The bill will now move to Governor Wolf s desk for approval.  The beginnings of a silver lining may be appearing for Pennsylvania restaurants after state Senate members voted in favor of a $145 million relief package for the industry.  On Wednesday, the state senators voted 48-0 in favor of SB 109, which creates the Hospitality Industry Recovery Program and provides $145 million in relief for restaurants across the commonwealth. Sen. Joe Pittman (R-Armstrong) sponsored the bill.  We thank the Senate for acting to help those in the industry who have been most impacted by prevention and mitigation orders during the pandemic. But hopefully, this is just the start of the General Assembly helping the many mom and pop hospitality establishments that make up the backbone of every Pennsylvania town across the Commonwealth, Pennsylvania Licensed Beverage and Tavern Association execu
