Chagai, Washuk receive moderate rains - Newspaper

CHAGAI: The mercury dropped in some areas of Chagai, Washuk and surrounding districts after they received slight and moderate rains with windstorm on Monday. The windstorm caused damage to solar panels in agricultural areas of Chagai and Washuk. Some areas near the Pak-Afghan border, including Bahram Chah, Posti, Nalaap in Chagai, received moderate rain. In these areas floodwater was also seen flowing in some streams. Dalbandin, Nokundi and their surrounding areas received slight rain which made the weather pleasant after a long heat wave. Meanwhile, some solar panels were damaged after heavy windstorm hit some areas, including Dalbandin, Chagai and Washuk.

Basic infrastructure being built in Chagai: minister - Newspaper

CHAGAI: Balochistan Minister for Com­­munications and Works Mir Moham­mad Arif Mohammad Hasni has said that basic infrastructure is being built in the Chagai district by establishing district secretariat, government officers’ colony and other residential facilities. He was talking to Dawn at his camp office in Dalbandin where people from different walks of life were also present. Mr Hasni said he was focusing on development of far-flung areas of Chagai, including those close to the borders with Afghanistan and Iran. He said the road from Girdi Jangal to Chagai was completed, while roads connecting Dalbandin with Ameen Abad, Amuri, Bahram Chah, Posti, Charbaan and some other areas were under construction.

Man commits suicide after killing wife - Newspaper

CHAGAI: A man committed suicide after killing his wife and injuring his daughter in Bahram Chah town near the Afghan border in Chagai district on Saturday morning, officials said. According to the Levies Force officials, Ahmed Khan opened fire at his wife and daughter owing to unknown reasons before killing himself with the same gun. His wife died whereas his daughter suffered injuries and was provided medical treatment at Prince Fahad Hospital in Dalbandin. The Levies Force registered a case and started investigation into the matter to ascertain the circumstances that led to the killings. Published in Dawn, January 10th, 2021
