Housing and Local Government Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Abd Muttalib (pic) on Saturday described his support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as “firm and clear,” and that is why he was among the first to make known his stand.
The Member of Parliament for Maran (Pahang) said his support was because the country was facing the Covid-19 pandemic and an uncertain economy that needs to be prioritised for the sake of the people.

KUANTAN: The Pahang government has agreed for assistance to be given to flood victims to help them cope in the post-flood period.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail announced that among the aids was an allocation for a period of time to heads of households who need to rent another house due to sustaining total losses from the floods. Consideration will be given as well to provide a one-off contribution at a certain rate to heads of households registered with the flood operations control centres in their respective districts. A rebate up to RM15 will also be given to heads of households for domestic water use for January. For houses that are completely lost, a full rebate on water use will be given for the months of January and February, he said in a statement on Friday (Jan 22).

pic) said the approval by the state executive council on Friday (Jan 8) would bring the total allocation amount to RM11mil. With the additional allocation channelled to the state Social Welfare Department (JKM), it is hoped that the welfare of the flood victims throughout the state can continue to be protected. To date, JKM itself has spent about RM3.4mil, of which a large portion of about RM2.9mil has been used for the purchase of daily necessities for flood victims at evacuation centres, he said on Sunday (Jan 10).
Apart from that, Wan Rosdy said about RM434,000 had been spent on expenses for the daily needs of flood victims in disconnected areas, RM19,748 was distributed to district Social Welfare Offices and about RM16,900 to the flood operations control centre.
