Vincent Sullivan, 49, of Passaic, was arrested and charged with first degree murder, in connection with the death of his 82-year-old father, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said in a statement. Prosecutors have already filed to detain Sullivan ahead of any trial. The alleged murder and the arrest unfolded Wednesday night, starting with a call for a welfare check at Sullivan’s home in Passaic, the statement said. At 7:22 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the home on Terhune Avenue after a “concerned party” told police they hadn’t been able to get in touch with the two residents for several days, according to the statement.
