Muhammad Ali Blvd. A controversial proposal to strip a downtown Louisville building of its landmark status and pave the way for its demolition is moving forward. Louisville Metro s Planning and Zoning Committee voted 5-1 Tuesday afternoon to advance a resolution that would remove the Odd Fellows Building s label as a local landmark. The case will be taken up by the full Metro Council when the chamber meets again later this month. The Odd Fellows Building, at 211 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd., sits on property owned by Omni Louisville Hotel downtown. Officials with the massive hotel had pushed in 2019 to tear down the more than 120-year-old facility, the last remaining structure on the block where the Omni stands, and replace it with an entertainment center.
