I didn t grow up in the Lilac City but I love being a member of the group on Facebook called You KNOW you re from Rochester, NH if you. I enjoy learning about this area from the people who have always called it home. Their passion and vivid memories make these places come alive, even if I never got the chance to visit some of them. For some, this photo of the Old Melrose Restaurant on the corner of Salmon Falls Road and Route 16 sparks lots of nostalgia: Back in the 60 s and 70 s, this place was an institution!
