CHILDREN in Leftwich are set to get an improved play area thanks to Northwich Town Council and a £100k grant from FCC Communities Foundation. The money will be used to transform Old Hall Road Play Area with new equipment and a new safety surface so that the play area can be used all year round. Leftwich Councillor Andrew Cooper, who Chairs Friends of Old Hall Road Play Area, believes the improvements will make a huge difference to families in the area. He said: Although we were able to make some small improvements to this play area last year, a lot of the remaining equipment is dated, and it needs a real overhaul.
