Thailandâs Siam Cement Group PLC (SCG) last month made a big splash in the market by entering into a 70-per-cent share purchase agreement with Duy Tan Plastics JSC. The formerâs subsidiary SCG Packaging (SCGP) is to work with its Vietnamese partners under a 10-billion-baht ($332 million) investment to expand its packaging solution business in Vietnam, where demand for such products is growing.

Ca Mau â Construction of a wind power project started in Nguyen Huan commune, Dam Doi district, the southern province of Ca Mau on January 16.
Invested by the WTO Construction Trading Joint Stock Corporation, the projectâs first phase has total investment capital of over 10 trillion VND (over 432 million USD), with four wind power plants 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D to be built in coastal communes of Tan Tien and Nguyen Huan in Dam Doi district, and Tam Giang Dong commune of Nam Can district.
