SPRINGFIELD A 36-year-old Springfield man is accused of threatening and head-butting an officer, and kicking a squad car multiple times on March 29, in charges in Brown County District Court.
Seven charges were filed against Steven L. Dingman, 10 W. Maple St., Springfield on March 31. They include felony first-degree damage to property, felony threats of violence, gross misdemeanor harassment, fourth-degree assault, obstruct legal process, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and a petty misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dingman, who is in custody at the Brown County Jail, was granted a public defender. A bail hearing was set for 11:30 a.m. April 1.

COURTLAND An early morning March 10 traffic stop in Courtland by Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office deputies led to multiple drug and theft charges against two men and a woman.
Deja D. Padilla, 18, Montevideo, was charged with felony fifth-degree drug possession-not small amount of marijuana and felony possession of burglary or theft tools on March 11 in Brown County District Court. An initial court appearance was set for 8:30 a.m. March 23.
McKenzie M. Notch, 26, Granite Falls, was charged with felony second-degree drug sale 10 grams or more, a narcotic other than heroin within 90 days, third-degree drug possession 10 grams or more, fourth-degree drug sale and felony possession of burglary or theft tools. Bail was set at $40,000 without conditions, $15,000 with conditions in Nicollet County Court March 12.

NEW ULM A 44-year-old rural Sanborn man is facing six charges, including two felony counts, in Brown County District Court for allegedly abusing minors.
Wayne A. Turbes, 14634 450th Avenue, Sanborn, was charged March 4 with felony 3rd-degree assault-past pattern of child abuse, felony threats of violence, gross misdemeanor malicious punishment of a child, two counts of misdemeanor domestic assault and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
Turbes’ bail was set at $30,000 without conditions, $2,500 with conditions on March 4. An initial appearance was set for 8:30 a.m., March 16. He bailed out of jail Thursday without conditions.

BROWN COUNTY A 45-year-old New Ulm man is undergoing trial on four felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges in Brown County District Court. The trial began Thursday.
Travis J. Stancer of New Ulm faces charges of sexual contact with person under age 13 between April 25, 2011, and April 24, 2014.
Stancer is accused of engaging in sexual contact and using force or coercion to accomplish it; plus engaging in sexual contact with a person nearer of kin to him than first cousin.
The victim, 14, testified that Stancer forced her to have sex with him a number of times several years ago and that he hit her, slapping her in the face when he was drunk.
