Werribee homicide charges
Detectives from the Homicide Squad have charged a teenager following a fatal assault that claimed the life of a Wyndham Vale teenager on Friday.
Police and emergency services were called to the incident which occurred at a sporting complex on Ballan Road in Werribee on 7 May about 5.50pm.
The injured teen, a 17-year-old Wyndham Vale boy, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.
A Wyndham Vale teenager who was assisting police with their enquiries on Saturday and released from custody has now been charged with murder.
The 15-year-old was arrested in Wyndham Vale this afternoon and will appear in a children’s court this afternoon.

A 17-year-old boy has died in hospital in Victoria, after reports he was injured in the Melbourne suburb of Werribee on Friday night.
A 15-year-old Wyndham Vale boy assisted Victoria Police with their enquiries and was released without charge pending further investigations.
Homicide squad detectives will continue to investigate the incident, which occurred at Eagle Stadium on Ballan Road at about 5.50pm.

Homicide squad detectives are continuing to investigate the death of a 17-year-old in Werribee, after another teen was questioned and then released without charge.
Emergency services were called to a property on Ballan Road in Werribee at about 5.50pm on Friday night following reports of an injured male.
The Wyndham Vale teenager was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
A 15-year-old, also from Wyndham Vale, was arrested and questioned about the death but has since been released from custody without charge.
