MARBLEHEAD, MA Residents using the Marblehead Municipal Light Department are eligible for an expanded program that allows for a bill credit or stipend in exchange for allowing the utility to make brief, limited adjustments to their devices during times of peak electric demand.
The Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company said Monday that Marblehead is one of 13 communities eligible for the Connected Homes program in which wifi-enabled electrical devices can be remotely accessed as part of what it calls an innovative residential demand management program.
