Glazy Susan, City Councilor Matt Wally offering $5 gift cards to children in Worcester who shovel out fire hydrants after Monday’s nor’easter

It’s difficult to find motivation to leave the warm comfort of the indoors to head outside to more than a dozen inches of snow. Glazy Susan and District 5 City Councilor Matt Wally are looking to spark some motivation by offering $5 gift cards to children who do their part to clear some of the city’s fire hydrants.
Wally announced that children in the city who shovel out fire hydrant’s after Monday’s storm can receive a $5 gift card to the the gourmet doughnut shop in Worcester. Wally will be purchasing the gift cards.

Roads within Worcester’s Canal District remained covered with snow Thursday morning, a picture repeated throughout the city as more than 300 plows tried to keep up with Winter Storm Gail.
As Jay Fink, commissioner of the Worcester Department of Public Works & Parks, advised residents to remain off the roads Thursday, many businesses within the city opted to remain closed or open later than usual.
Here’s a list in alphabetical order of all the retail shops, restaurants and other Worcester establishments that took a snow day or allowed for some time to shovel out.
