The project will include a skate park, fitness equipment, public art and other amenities, at 93 Rifle Range Rd, Wollongbar. A development request was approved by Ballina Shire Council on Friday, February 19, for an estimated cost of $1.5 million. The property was historically used as the former Wollongbar Drive-in, which closed down in the mid-1980s. The park will feature junior play equipment including swings, play structure and climbing net; a skate park; Fitness equipment; public art; a multi-court with basketball hoop, and a 250m multipurpose pathway with distance markers.
