MIST’s Mongol Barota tops the prestigious University Rover Challenge 2021, BRACU ranks 4th

Military Institute of Science & Technology (MIST) s rover team, Mongol Barota, ranked first in the University Rover Challenge (URC) 2021. Organised by the Mars Society, the URC is the most prestigious robotics competition for college students across the world. The annual event is hosted in the United States and challenges students to design and build the next generation of Mars rovers that have the potential to aid in space exploration.
Due to the pandemic, the finals of URC were cancelled this year and the hosts came up with an alternative virtual challenge. It provided participants with the opportunity to build courses on their own campuses, and compete remotely while judges and fans tuned in online. The competition included three missions and 13 teams
Team Interplanetar, BUET's Mars Rover Team, has bagged the Innovation Award for devising the most innovative gas compression system at the International Planetary Aerial System Challenge (IPAS) 2021. The IPAS Challenge, organised by Mars Society South Asia, is a competition for university students, which asks them to design a fully equipped Mars Aerial System (Vehicle). The

Enhance cultural development.
Enhances the lives of those involved.
£1000 will be given to the winners to make their goals a reality. There are thirty awards available thanks to a partnership between the University of Southampton and Santander.
On 22nd February, applications for the awards opened. The deadline for applications is 19th March.
Winners will be decided by a panel of judges who will consider whether the proposed project is realistic and corresponds to one or more of the Aspire values. The judges will also consider the impact it could have on the community. Successful applicants will be asked to write a short impact report with photos explaining how the money helped them achieve their aspirations.
